# Hello all. Sorry about holding the first meeting during the first week of finals, but it was fairly productive. On to our bot, we have decided to go with a 30lb lifter. The basic design is a lifting arm embedded in the body of the bot that rises to either flip or immobilize our opponent. The next step is to decide on the lifting mechanism. There are three main choices: Hydraulics, pneumatics, or electronics. Pneumatics, will give us more of a flipper like Toro from the show. The drawback is that it has a limited number of charges with a pneumatic system. We are researching this option, as well as the other two. For the body of the bot, we are thinking of a rectangular shape, with a wedge in front that gets the arm underneath our opponent. The other sides would have skirts. The body, though, is still up for debate. Send me an email if you are interested in working on the design. -Chris
