First Assignment: Nov. 2, 2008; by Alexander Jozefov; Your first assignment is to familiarize yourself with Computer-Aided Design. Go to htp://download.seas.ucla.edu and download Autodesk Inventor Professional 2009. You should go through the first few tutorials until you're at least comfortable with extrusions and mates. If you have time, you can check out some build logs at http://www.teamcosmos.com or at http://www.coolrobots.com/builders/topframe.html. That should be enough to prepare you for the first project we'll be assigning. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

BattleBots Meeting: Oct. 27, 2008; by Alexander Jozefov; This general meeting will take place in Engineering IV, room 47-124 on Thursday, October 30th at 6:00 PM. That's the same building as the informational meeting, but a different room. It's going to be an important, action-packed meeting, so try not to miss it. We'll be giving your a crash course in what BattleBots is, what the competitions are like and what the rules are. You'll be learning about the different types of common weapons and design, as well as watching videos of past fights.In addition, you'll get ready to learn about 3D Computer-Aided Design and we'll be giving you your first assignment. If you're not sure if BattleBots is something that you're interested in, it can't hurt to come and see! Remember, you don't even have to be an Engineer to participate.

Media and Build Log Update: Aug. 9, 2008; by Alexander Jozefov; I'm currently in the process of updating the build logs and media page. The build logs are all old and not very descriptive, so I'm going to delete all the posts and update the page with information about the robot, allowing the pages to have a cleaner look when we begin to post about rebuilds. If you have any pictures of videos containing any of the robots, please send them to ucla.asme at gmail dot com. As soon as I get enough together, the site should be as close enough to ready for the new build season as possible.

Website Under Construction: July 30, 2008; by; I'm currently in the process of updating all of the information contained on the website. Everything that's up as of this post is up to date, but large amounts of information are missing. Information about all of our current robots should be up within the next month. Also, the majority of the member accounts have been purged. If you need a new account, contact me and I'll set one up for you. In the future, we will require all builders to keep relatively up to date build logs on this site. If you have any inquiries regarding anything at all, either email Alexander Jozefov or send us a message through the contact us page.
